A packed bag for the South of France
Who’s packing carry on this summer? I’m not. Welcome to a very realistic glimpse into whats going to be in my suitcase (and my itinerary) in a few weeks + some new arrivals I am loving.
Before we head to France, we are going to Israel and I haven’t been back since my junior year abroad. I would love any new recommendations from you guys if you have any!
EWR to CDG
I usually avoid linen when traveling to prevent wrinkles, so I opt for a cotton drawstring pant paired with a white tee and a sweater (here’s another great option). If you want an extra layer, try adding a white button-down over the tee, with the sweater wrapped around your shoulders or waist. For shoes, I typically go with a mule (I just ordered this dupe), but if I don’t have room for a sneaker, I’ll wear them instead. My plane bag (I’ve been eyeing this) always includes an extra pair of socks, these noise-cancelling headphones, and my iPad—if you’ve been considering swapping your laptop for one, I can’t recommend it enough. Also, our Away suitcases have held up really well over the last few years.
A morning at the market & lunch
I’m so thrilled to own this dress—halter necks aren’t usually my thing, but this one fits perfectly. My mom picked it up in the beige, too. The June top from Dôen is going to be a summer workhorse for me, and these shorts look like the perfect match. Add a great pairs of sandals (or these), a big sun hat, a raffia bag, and sunglasses, and you’re set.
Afternoon spent at the house
My white linen set from Deiji Studios comes with me everywhere, though unfortunately it's from last season. This set from Jenni Kayne (I have the shorts version and love it — use code RACHELC15), as well as linen pieces from Donni and James Perse, are all great options. Other essentials: a black bikini from Eres or Mikoh, a lightweight mini dress from Dôen, black sandals, a black tote, and a big sun hat. Sunglasses and a necklace finish off the look perfectly.
Dinner in the old town
A cotton or linen trouser paired with a beautiful silk top, either this one with fringe that also comes in black or this one with lace (another option here)… a flat sandal or a heel, an embroidered bag (or a beaded one), necklace and cuff.
Sunset drinks & dinner
Love these new Khaite pants paired with my new top from Dries (more sizes here)… something a bit more interesting than plain white on white. This linen dress from Nili Lotan (more sizes here) has been a top seller for clients, paired with these or these sandals and a pendant necklace.
Client work always slows down this time of year, which means I have a lot more time to focus on these beautiful posts—they take forever to make, but they’re so rewarding.
